Jobs

It's not particularly useful to be limited to be doing just one thing at a time at the terminal window. You don't want to have to wait while a file downloads or a particularly long program compiles. Job Management allows us to perform several jobs or tasks at the same time or switch between them. You can put on hold one task to check something out to make sure its correct, or have the server retrieve updates from the internet while you browse your mail.

Job management is broken up into a few critical areas, so now that we know that job management will allow us to do several things at once we need to look at exactly what a job is and what does it look like when running.

Next on the list is to look at exactly what is a job.
